What I Want, Really

Keep fresh before me the moments of my high resolve - Howard Thurman

What I want, really is to live life filled with moments of high resolve.  I want to realize and acknowledge demonstrations of kindness, love, and peace.  What I want, really is to remember that regardless of appearances and circumstances demonstrations of kindness, love, and peace create ripple effects of the same, touching the lives of us all.  What I want, really is for all beings with whom I come in contact to leave happier because I know from that space a ripple effect has been created.

While driving one day I witnessed a young man gently crossing the street while cradling his toddler.  I pulled up to the bus stop where the toddler was now resting on the bench as dad stood just off to the side blocking the morning sun from his child’s eyes.  As I approached I shared with the gentleman how the simple act of cradling his son filled my heart with love and compassion.  I freely shared that I was honored to witness such a gentle demonstration of kindness, love, and peace.  He thanked me and as he extended his hand, he looked me square in my eyes and said, "You just made my day."  I replied, "No sir.  You just made my day."

Just as I witnessed that toddler lovingly cradled in the arms of his father, I know, in consciousness, that each of us are cradled in this same love regardless of appearances or circumstances.

What is so wonderful about what I want, really, is that anyone can want it.  Anyone can be it, and anyone can do it.  What I want, really, is to remember my moments of high resolve.  To remember that acts of kindness, love, and peace, cultivated in consciousness, can match physical activities.

Affirmation: My conscious activity of demonstrating and acknowledging acts of kindness, love, and peace, cause a ripple effect touching the lives of us all.
